Designed to Pray Review & Giveaway

I’ve been challenged lately to pray more. And with that challenge comes two beautiful giveaways for you this  resurrection weekend!

Designed to Pray

by Kelly O’Dell Stanley

Designed to Pray

We all know we should pray. And when life gets a little out of control the first thing we do is often offer up a plea for help to the one who we know can do something about our problem.

But do you ever struggle to pray? Do you ever go throughout your day and forget to pray? Do you want to have a deeper relationship with God, but truly practicing the discipline of talking with God seems too difficult or complicated?

Sometimes we complicate it, other times we just choose the easy way out and don’t pray. But really that’s the difficult road. When we pray, we are inviting God to live with us, to walk with us, to lead us.

Kelly O’Dell Stanley gives us a beautiful, creative look at a unique way to bring new life to the daily prayers we say or wish we did say.

In her book, Designed to Pray, Kelly offers eight weeks of unique ways to think about prayer and actively journal. I love the way she creatively offers us new ways to focus on God and process our thinking when it comes to prayer.

With reflective questions and compelling prayer prompts, Kelly gives us some insight into how to think a bit deeper in our prayers. It’s not so much about when to pray or how to pray, but more about giving us unique challenges to expand our prayers beyond mealtimes and bedtimes.

Kelly explores memorable ways to pray for others while also teaching us to focus on who God is and why we pray to Him the way we do. It’s truly unlike any book I’ve ever seen on prayer.

If you are the creative type, you will love the interactive, artsy challenges that are provided in each chapter. If you have felt stagnant in your prayer life, this book is sure to help you ignite some unique ways to communicate and meditate on God.

And now for the second giveaway!

Praying With Power

by Patsy Clairmont

Praying With Power

This twelve chapter Bible study on prayer is the perfect way to learn the foundation of why we pray and how to get started with better prayer life. Patsy, lays each chapter out with a short introduction and jumps right into thought provoking questions along with Bible verses that tie everything together.

Patsy explore questions like,

“Why would we journal?”

“What is private prayer?”

“Does God talk back to us through prayer?”

“What is a prayer warrior?”

And many more. These questions are things we all have wondered or thought about at one time or another and Patsy leads us to God’s Word to find the answers.

If you are looking for a resource that will help you get grounded in your prayer life, this is a great option.

Along with Patsy’s Bible Study, Women of Faith has two other studies that I am giving away on this resurrection weekend – Building your Strengths by Patsy Clairmont, and Giving God Your Future by Thelma Wells. Both would be a great Bible studies to challenge you in your walk as you grow closer to God.

If these books look like something you would love to have, enter the giveaway by subscribing to my blog below or leaving a comment with your best prayer tip.

One winner will receive Kelly’s Designed to Pray and one winner will receive the 3 Bible Studies by Women of Faith. Enter now! The giveaway ends Sunday night!

Love & Blessings,

  1. Never be afraid to change your posture or positions while praying. If your prayer life has gone cold or stagnant get on your knees, walk your living room, or even fall on your face before the King. It’s amazing how our posture can humble us at the feet of Jesus and allow our hearts to focus on him in a new way.

  2. I already subscribe to your blog. I am loving the ones about peace! Prayer is very important in our daily life. God always wants to hear from us. I can always do more, though!

    1. Wendy, thank you for being a subscriber! And thank you for the feedback on the peace series! Happy Easter to you and your family!
