Experience God’s Power Today

Experience God’s Power Today

The power God offers is readily available. You can experience God’s power today. We live in a power hungry culture. It seems everywhere we look we can find someone rising up trying to gain more power and more influence – more, more, more.  We have access to power that is not going to leave us wanting more. In fact, God promises He is willing to give us exactly what we need when we need it. He offers answers, help, hope, and a refuge for those who ask for it.  So rather than beating my chest and demanding power, I’m learning power

When You Are Afraid to Take the Next Step

When You Are Afraid to Take the Next Step

You heard God tell you what to do. You even almost started the assignment. You sort of planned and you are just waiting for a little more confirmation, maybe a little more time to be prepared.  The problem we all face when we wait to take the next step is that we often get distracted in the waiting. I’m learning when God says GO! that I need to step right away. Too often I hesitate in my own self-doubt thinking the results are up to me.  And then I wrestle with myself, my weaknesses, and my fear of failure.  Fear

Anchored In Is Here, Along with a Giveaway!

It’s been a journey up to this point and I’m praying it continues to be more of the same. For the past two years God has prompted my heart to put words on a page: not just any words, but words filled with His power. I don’t share this to try to prove to you that my book is more than it really is, but just to encourage you that God has a purpose for every single one of us. Even if Anchored In had never been published, God used the words within its pages to change me. He gave

Why I Wrote a Book

Why I Wrote a Book

There are some things in life that you always dream of doing. And you even tell people, “One day I’m going to …” Writing a book was never one of my dreams. As a school-aged girl, I struggled to finish reading a book for a simple book report. I would end each book report the same exact way, “This was a very good book.” Whew! I made it. Why in the world would

Calling All Perfectionists

Living With Purpose: Week 8 Sometimes we wait for the circumstances to be perfect before we take a leap of faith. I’m not a good waiter. I like things to happen fast. Once I get my mind made up, I like to make an action plan and leap with all my might. Sometimes it’s good. It means I act in faith and let God work out the details as I go. Other times, it’s complete foolishness. I jump ahead of God and get into deep water that I cannot navigate on my own, and then I wonder why I feel

Ever Feel Lonely?

Ever Feel Lonely? I entered the room of women excited to make new friends. While they laughed about old memories and giggled over inside jokes, there I stood on the outside looking in – alone. I wanted to laugh and join in the fun, but I didn’t know the inside stories and didn’t understand the jokes that caused them to explode into simultaneous laughter. So there I stood with a smile plastered on my face, and an empty sinking feeling filling up my entire chest. I was surrounded by people, but felt completely alone. Have you ever been there? You
