Pray for Cyrus

Sometimes things in life happen that we cannot understand. When illness hits, it can be heartbreaking and terrifying all in the same moment. We try to be strong, press on, and make the best of the life that lies before us, but sometimes life seems to be put on hold while we wait for test results, reactions to medications and the doctor’s short-term and long-term plans.

A dear friend of mine recently received the difficult news that her precious five-year-old son has Leukemia.

Immediately the things in life that seemed big now look very small. The problems that filled our minds yesterday look like frivolous issues that we ought not waste our emotional energy on. A mother’s normal concerns like who their child sat with at lunch or if they gave the teacher the note packed in their bag turn into more serious concerns like how long will the treatment plan last and what will tomorrow look like.

As I go forward with my seemingly normal life, I have a friend whose entire world has been rocked, tipped upside down. Just the thought of what she has been through in the past week brings tears.

Some of you may know my sweet friend Becca and her precious son, Cyrus, and you have already been praying, loving and giving to help this amazing family. I write this mostly for those who don’t know my friend and her son and I ask you to pray. Right now. As you read, pray for Cyrus.

Five-year-old Cyrus faces something many people will never have to – cancer. Maybe you have been personally impacted by the darkness that looms when that word is presented to your family – if so, would you leave a kind comment or a word of encouragement for my friend?

  1. Praying for this sweet little boy and his family! It really does put things into perspective, a reminder of what really is important.

  2. Praying for Cyrus and his family. I am a 9 year cancer survivor and I understand the fear he has and the anguish his family goes through as they try to be strong for him. He is a hero and his family members are as well. I think of Cyrus and his family often and pray for as good an outcome as I have had.

  3. The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells on the inside of Cyrus. Therefore that same Spirit is quickening Cyrus’ mortal body now in Jesus Name. Amen. We welcome You our good Father to walk through the land of Cyrus’ body & sack the illegal occupant called leukemia, in Jesus Name. Amen. Uproot dear Lord every planting of infirmity in Jesus Name. Amen. I declare Cyrus’ body free from the torment of diseases & infirmity in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen. Good news we hear concerning Cyrus in Jesus. Name. Amen.

  4. Praying for Cyrus and his loving family. Praying that they will feel the strength of God’s love so tangibly. Praying that this time of adversity will draw them closer to God. Praying that God’s hands of love and mercy will surround them and hold them close. Praying for healing and restoration in his body, and in all their bodies, spirits and minds. Sending big hugs to the entire family. Thank you for sharing, and for the opportunity to pray along. Praying that we will all focus on what’s important every day. God bless.
