When I look down at my watch, I am reminded of the time we have on this earth. As each moment passes we have a choice of how we use our time.
We can let the days pass without a second thought or we can use the time in valuable ways. There is no rule or written code of ethics on how we should spend our time, but I’m learning more and more about what is truly important.
Time with people is more important than perfecting my house. Time with my kids is more important than time spent cleaning. Time in God’s Word is more nourishing than any health fad I invest in. Time in prayer is more valuable than playing, practicing, or participating in endless activities. It’s hard to know exactly how to manage time wisely, but the simplest way I see it is to live each moment with more devotion to Jesus, more love for people, and more compassion for the hurting.
We know there will come a time when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, and our time will be up, but until then let’s spend our time investing in the lives of others.

I often forget how short this life is. But I’m learning more and more to live for the eternal rather than the temporal. Life seems to remind us sometimes. My dad’s cancer is a bold reminder lately to invest in people, love them fiercely, and be present. Have a great week, Paula!
